Rostering is the foundation for a sustainable training program

One foundation is having a well-maintained Roster in a software platform where operations teams can access all the things that make their people unique, including certifications, trainings and location.

Once you have an integrated Roster in a software platform, you can identify gaps in training across your workforce. When you have a consistent method of tracking the lack of training, you have the opportunity to develop a sustained training program.

A tool fit to the task

The ability to have a sustainable training program is difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. Most contractors have certifications living in one spreadsheet, a list of people in another sheet and the schedulers in another sheet with a different list of people.

If you have a scheduling spreadsheet with worker names color coded by job title, how deep can you actually drill down to see what makes them unique? Specifically, can you see their skill sets, address, phone number and other info that helps you manage your labor force? Sure, you could put a comment in a cell on the spreadsheet to get more information, but that’s not tied to anything. Nothing is interactive.
